Occoquan Counseling, LLC was formed in 2008 by Kelly Facciola, LCSW. The practice began growing in 2018 with the addition of Meghan Baglio, MSW. Sonya Bryce, LPC, LSATP joined in 2019.

​Kelly completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Dickinson College in 1995, and her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Georgia in 1997. She has been practicing social work for over 20 years and has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in numerous settings. Her focus in clinical social work centers on the respect and empowerment of the client (s). Kelly believes in using a strength-based approach that identifies each person’s most positive attributes and uses those to strengthen them from within. She believes strongly in client self-determination and encourages all clients to consciously make the choices which will help them succeed. She strives to make the psychotherapy process as safe and supportive as possible so that clients can achieve their goals. Her post-degree work has been in child welfare and psychotherapy, specializing in abuse, neglect, and child/family trauma. She has also completed Basic Level 1 and 2 trainings in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as ongoing trainings in play therapy for children with a variety of mental health issues.

​Meghan graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family services in 2005 and her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015. Meghan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. Meghan has been practicing social work in the state of Virginia for 15 years primarily working with children. Meghan worked in child welfare for many years providing her with extensive knowledge about the child welfare system and childhood trauma. Meghan believes in using a strength based psychodynamic approach with clients encouraging clients to utilize their strengths and achievement to elicit change. Meghan currently works with children ages 4 years through young adulthood, serving a broad population to include children of divorce, foster and adoptive families and children, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, childhood trauma, emotional and behavioral concerns and grief & loss.

Sonya graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. She began her career working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma, and moved into private practice settings working with clients across the mental health and addiction spectrum. Sonya is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with licensure in both Virginia and Arizona. She also holds Virginia licensure as a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner. She is experienced in providing services to individuals, couples, families and groups for a variety of mental health and addiction issues.

Sonya has served as a Clinical Director for a substance abuse outpatient clinic; as a Program Manager for a partial hospitalization program; and as a therapist/case manager on an inpatient unit for a psychiatric hospital. Sonya has also maintained a presence in several outpatient practices throughout her career as a professional counselor.
Sonya’s clinical approach is based on Cognitive-Behavioral techniques. However, Sonya also believes in meeting people where they are, and utilizes a variety of techniques to help clients affect a positive change in their lives.
